With reference to my despatch No.332 dated

the 3rd of July, 1928, and your telegrams dated the 14th of

September, 1928, and the 1st of February, 1929, I have the

honour to submit for the signification of His Majesty's

pleasure the following Ordinance intituled "An Ordinance to

amend the constitution of the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking

Corporation".

2.

I forward the usual report of the Attorney

General on the Ordinance which explains how the conditions

stipulated by you in your telegram of the 14th of September

have been observed. I also forward a certificate as required

by Article XXVII of the Royal Instructions, dated the 14th

of February, 1917.

3.

I should be glad if I could be informed by

telegram of His Majesty's pleasure in respect of this

Ordinance.
